CME GLOBEX RECAP: World equity markets are mixed Thursday morning after a
very volatile session on Wednesday where stock markets surged in the aftermath
of the Federal Reserve decision and press conference, only to crash late in the
session and close the day mixed. World markets that were closed when all of
this happened are just catching up and are showing some uncertainty after such
a volatile move in the U.S. markets. Meanwhile, U.S. markets are stronger
Thursday morning, shrugging off the poor close and embracing the message from
Chairman Powell that was much more "dovish" that traders were anticipating
prior to his press conference. Given that recent inflation data that has showed
that the Fed is not making progress recently in getting inflation to 2%, the
Chairman was asked about the possibility of raising rates. He was very emphatic
that rate hikes were not on the table and would only suggest that the Fed
thinks that current policy is restrictive enough and just needs more time to do
the job. He also said that there are scenarios where a cut or cuts could still
happen this year.

There were important data points Wednesday, with the ADP employment data
hotter than anticipated, while construction spending and the ISM Manufacturing
index were both weaker than traders expected.

OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Wednesday showed the Dow Jones Industrial
Average up 87.37 at 37,903.29 and the S&P 500 down 17.30 at 5,018.39, The
10-Year Treasury yield ended at 45.58%. Early Thursday, the June Dow Jones
Futures are up 127 points. European markets are mixed with the spot futures of
London's FTSE 100 trading up 0.37%, spot futures of Germany's DAX is trading up
0.03% and the spot futures of France's CAC 40 Index down 0.63%. Asian markets
are mixed with Japan's Nikkei 225 Index down 0.1% and China's Shanghai
